Fes to Merzouga 3 Days Desert Safari Overview
This trip is a beautiful journey across Morocco, from the city of Fes to the Sahara Desert and back. After leaving Fes, you travel through Ifrane and the cedar forests of Azrou, where you can see wild monkeys and enjoy nature. You pass small Berber villages and stop for lunch along the way.
As you continue through the Atlas Mountains, the scenery changes until you reach the desert near Merzouga. There, you ride camels into the dunes and spend the night in a traditional Berber tent under the stars.
The next morning, you wake up early to see the sunrise, then ride back by camel. After breakfast, you begin the journey back to Fes. On the way, you have lunch in Midelt, a mountain town. In the evening, you arrive back in Fes, ending the trip.

Tour Plan
After breakfast, we’ll depart from Fez and head toward the desert town of Merzouga. Along the way, we’ll pass through Ifrane and continue to the cedar forests of Azrou, where you may spot wild monkeys—an ideal moment to capture some beautiful photos of Morocco’s natural scenery. We’ll stop for lunch in the small Berber village of Zaida.
Our journey then continues through the Atlas Mountains, offering stunning views as we travel via Midelt toward the towns of Rich and Erfoud, where the landscape begins to reveal the lush oasis of Tafilalet. Upon arrival in Merzouga, you’ll have some time to relax before setting off on a camel ride into the desert. There, you’ll spend a memorable night under the stars in traditional Berber nomadic tents
After an early sunrise, we’ll ride the camels back to Merzouga. Following a refreshing shower and breakfast, we’ll begin our journey back to Fes. Along the way, we’ll pause to share tea with a nomadic family before crossing the High Atlas Mountains once again. We’ll stop for lunch in the town of Midelt.
Midelt is a remarkable mountain town, located at an altitude of 1,488 meters and nestled beneath the impressive Jbel Ayachi, which rises to 3,737 meters. In the afternoon, we’ll continue our journey toward the historic city of Fes, where we’ll arrive by evening, marking the end of the trip.
