Half dayPhotography Camel Tour in Erg Chebbi
Time the light, frame the caravan, and shoot the dunes at their best.

As the sun drops, Erg Chebbi’s dunes turn from gold to deep orange and long shadows sculpt every ridge. This session gets you to the right place at the right time, with enough space to compose your shots without crowds.
Your guide picks a location based on the season, wind and where other groups are heading, aiming for clean sand ridges and a view west. You’ll walk (or ride by camel or 4x4, on request) into the dunes about an hour and a half before sunset, giving time to scout compositions while the light is still hard.
As golden hour arrives, the guide can suggest angles for ridge lines, ripples and long shadows, and — where arranged — position a camel caravan for silhouettes against the sky. After the sun sets, stay for the blue hour, when the dunes take on soft pastel tones.
The session suits phone photographers and enthusiasts alike. It is not a technical masterclass unless a specialist photography guide is arranged on request.
Timings shift with the season (sunrise and sunset change by more than two hours across the year).
We confirm these details in your written quote:
Walking in soft sand is tiring — wear closed shoes, carry water and a head torch for the return. Protect cameras from sand with a bag or cover; avoid changing lenses in wind.
