Enjoy a simple and exciting 5-day trip from Marrakech to the Merzouga desert, and discover the beauty of Morocco along the way.
Your journey starts early in the morning at 7:15 a.m., when you are picked up from your hotel in Marrakech. You will travel in a comfortable, air-conditioned minibus through the Atlas Mountains, with beautiful views all around you. On the way, you will stop at Ait Ben Haddou, a famous old village. You can walk around and learn about its history. After that, you will have lunch before continuing to Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Desert” and a popular place for filming movies.In the evening, you will arrive in the quiet Dades Valley. There, you can relax in a cozy guesthouse and enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner. It’s a calm and comfortable way to end your first day of the trip.
The next morning, you will start your day with a nice breakfast at your guesthouse. Then, you will travel to the beautiful Todra Gorge, a place with high cliffs and amazing views. It’s a perfect place to walk, relax, and take photos. After lunch, you will continue your journey to Merzouga.
When you arrive in Merzouga, you will feel the true spirit of the desert. You will ride camels across the soft golden dunes of Erg Chebbi and enjoy a peaceful sunset. After the camel ride, you will arrive at your desert camp. There, you will enjoy a warm dinner, listen to local music, and spend the night under the stars.
After breakfast, we leave the camp and start a fun 4×4 trip around Merzouga. First, we visit a Gnawa village. You can meet the local people and listen to their music. Then, we go to Meffis Mountain to see old mines from many years ago.
Next, we visit a desert family. We sit with them, drink tea, and learn about their daily life. After lunch, you will take a relaxing walk in a desert oasis. It is a calm and peaceful place.
In the evening, we take you to a hotel where you can rest and relax. It will be a great day, and you will have many nice memories from your trip to Merzouga.
Wake up early to see the sunrise in the desert. It is a magical moment. The first light makes the golden dunes look beautiful, with amazing colors. After that, enjoy breakfast at the desert camp. It is quiet and peaceful, surrounded by the beauty of the Sahara. Then, you can return to Merzouga village by camel or by 4×4. Both are fun and give you different views of the desert.
Next, we visit the market in Rissani. It is an old market with many small shops selling spices, crafts, and local products. After that, we drive to Nkob through the beautiful Draa Valley, where you will see palm trees, a river, and old kasbahs. At the end of the day, we arrive in Ouarzazate, known as the movie capital of Africa. Many films are made here. You can relax in a riad and think about all the wonderful things you saw during the day.
Next, we visit Atlas Studios in Ouarzazate. It is called the “Hollywood of Africa.” Movies like Gladiator and Kingdom of Heaven were made here. You will walk around the film sets and see how movies are made. After the visit, we drive back to Marrakech through the High Atlas Mountains. On the way, we stop at Tizi n’Tichka Pass. You can enjoy the view and take nice photos of the mountains.
In the afternoon or evening, we arrive in Marrakech. We take you to your hotel. This is the end of your 5-day desert trip. You will see mountains, desert dunes, and old kasbahs. You will have many beautiful memories of Morocco.
